Neighbourhood Park

A Neighbourhood Park is a small passive park predominantly serving a local function including but not limited to, reserves, walkways, naturestrips, bus stop surrounds, road medians and similar open space areas.

Neighbourhood Parks are very important to local identity and sense of community. They are usually small in size and are not intended to meet every recreational need, but to provide an area of open space for local residents, within walking distance, which offers some opportunities for informal recreational activities such as walking, running, ball play, use of play equipment, dog walking or simply relaxing.
